Restrictions Advice

With all the recent changes in travel requirements, we want to ensure our clients are aware of a few, very important points for upcoming travel returning to the United States.

1.Entry Requirements:

  • COVID TEST: Each intended destination has specific COVID TEST requirements to review with your Embark Advisor.

  • CERTIFY: You must fill out the entry form. You will not be allowed onto your flight without the official certification confirmed in writing. Thus, we suggest filling it out at least 24 hours in advance. You must have your test results uploaded to the application.

  • INSURANCE: Discuss Insurance requirements and have PROOF of Insurance as required to travel enter certain destinations.

2.RE-ENTRY: The recent CDC ruling will become effective January 26, requiring all air passengers entering the United States, including all American Citizens, to present a negative COVID-19 test, taken within 3 days of departure of their first flight segment headed into the USA. For more information please Click Here to Read the CDC’s FAQs. For your reference:

  • TEST Type: Both (NAAT) and antigen (rapid) tests will be acceptable.

  • Exceptions:

    • Kids under 2 years do not need proof of a test

    • Documentation of Recovery within 3 months - if you recovered from Covid you do not have to test if you present BOTH proof that you tested positive in the past 3 months before your flight and have finished required isolation, Along With a letter from your doctor stating that you are cleared for travel.

  • Enforcement: Airlines must confirm the negative test result for all passengers before boarding.

    • Airlines must deny boarding of passengers if they do not provide documentation of a negative test or recovery.

    • This applies to both commercial and private flights.

  • Test Time Frame:

    • If you are flying on a connecting flight into the USA, the 3-day test period begins from the minute your first flight departs to the USA – but only if all connecting flights are in the same record. If they are not, you need your test to be valid within 3 days of each flight segment.

    • If you are flying out of the country for less than 3 days you can take a test in the USA before you depart and use it for your return, or take a rapid before your return flight.

    • If your flight is delayed past the 3 day window you must take another test to board your flight.

INSURANCE: Whether or not you need proof of insurance to travel, we strongly suggest you travel with it. In these unpredictable times, so many things can happen and that small investment in an insurance policy will save you thousands of dollars and possibly help evacuate you to a great medical facility if needed. PLEASE DO NOT RISK TRAVELING WITHOUT INSURANCE. Your Embark Advisor can help suggest policy providers.

Don’t hesitate to contact us at info@EmbarkBeyond.com to discuss in more detail, and possibly set up a test in your room.
